Not since 1957 have jobs been lost this quickly. Company slack is on the rise too in the form of UNPAID LEAVE, LESS WORK HOURS. Politicians will not sit still. It's not just the U.S creating stimulus packages. China too. In Japan the mindset is that temp and part time workers are like a terrorist threat, they have to be contained.
