The following is an informative blog entry from the financial blog Zero Hedge. It explains one of the unintended consequences from giving assistance to GM. The lending arm of GM - GMAC got itself reclassified as a bank so that it could get TARP money. now it has the ability to offer low to no interest car loans to people. Why is this bad? because the one "healthy" car company, Ford, does not have that option. All of the help we give to GM is going to eventually, unintentionally, hurt Ford. read while driving.
