Anyway, sitting around and waiting for slavery to dissolve would've helped imbed the notion of slavery further into the minds of those states that allowed it. A roll back on the policy of slavery wasn't gonna happen so fast. Proof of this is in the difficult post war years where Jim Crow laws helped stifle equality and respect for a hundred years after the Civil War ended. click here
