With today's world coverage set to start in twenty minutes from LA as the funeral procession heads towards the Staples Center, one question comes to mind. Is Michael Jackson now bigger than Jesus Christ? The comparisons are worth the look. What has sold more since 1981, the Bible or Thriller? Who has had better crossover appeal in attracting outside followers? Who has had more of a universal effect in death? Whose appearances would sell out faster? MJ's 50 shows set for London's O2 arena sold out in hours. Tell us Jesus, can you top that? We may no longer call catastrophic and monumental moments "Biblical" proportions. They may soon be referred to as "Moonwalkian" proportions.
In all seriousness, today we honor greatness. A talent that has touched so many of our souls. Let's not let Larry King hiding in Michael's dresser drawer to play hide and seek with Marlon Brando's kid, distort the purpose of this day. Michael was a troubled guy, who was thrown into being the worlds entertainer at the age of 6, a guy who gave happiness to everyone else while struggling to find peace himself. Let's not make a mockery out of his passing please. RIP MJ.
