August 15, 1969 was the day rock n roll and culture collided like they may have never had before. The Monterrey Pop Festival in 1967 may have broken ground for the big outdoor potential. Woodstock then took it over. Half a million people, a three day free concert, a hall of fame lineup, and in many ways a statement about the unity of the counterculture vehemently againstthe government's policies in Vietnam.
Shock and Awesome also covered the controversial Michael Vick signing, Hillary Clinton's
controversial comments in the Congo, and the Town Hall meeting, that rage on like a WWF tour. The show re airs Sat 8am -10am and can be heard as well in the archive section. Go to www.eastvillageradio.com
