SPEAKING OF 30 SECOND ADS..NOTHING TOPS DAISY GIRL


President Obama mentioned in his 50 minute speech yesterday on Torture and National Security that it will be easy to politicize the GITMO issue with 30 second soundbites, meaning commercials made by opponents to attack the Presidents line of thinking. No ad was more controversial than the 1964 "Daisy Girl" ad that helped LBJ paint GOP candidate Barry Goldwater as a nuke loving threat to safety. The ad was pulled soon after, but had a devastating effect. watch it
