COLLEGE FOOTBALL PLAYOFF HOT TOPIC ON THE HILL

Former Oklahoma QB JC Watts (above) , a member of Oklahoma's House of Representatives and a lobbyist for the BCS , the Bowl Championship Series, feels that lawmakers and players on the hill too often see the College Football Bowl Series through the lense of the fan. Too much controversy and too much  money surrounds the final selection of todays current system whereby two of the nations top teams are decided upon and given the chance to play for the national championship. Opponents argue that 1- the BCS is a money machine favoring certain schools and top conferences 2- a plyoff system would be more fair and exciting , and truly allow the top team to emerge honestly. College football in and of itself is not important enough to be considered a life and death issue. It is however a look into certian priorities of  Congressand House  members.  I personally would love to see the season end by mid November to start a final 16 tournament. Of the 16, 8 would be top conference winners, the other 8 would be "wildcards. Either division winners of smaller conferences, or second place finishers from Majors. Besides, Obama wants a playoff system too. C'mon let's do this already. Sorry JC, I'm not with you on this one.
